The show turnout was light for a Friday, but good for a holiday weekend.

Sporting the comeback of the Spooky and the possibility that somebody would probably get naked. The night started of sort of slow. When I arrived at about 9:30, I expected to be late. But to my surprise the stage was barren, and some horrible dance tape was being played on the house system. Why? Oh why? Is the music at a music club always so bad? Dance music at a punk show, punk music at a dance show. They’re always a day off.

Anyway "some stupid bastards" were suppose to open the show but never even showed up. So to the dismay of The Spooky, they started toting they’re equipment up the stage. With a couple new members this was the first time the Spooky had played in a few months. An it sort of sucks they had to open up the show, because the opener stiffed everyone. But what the hell shit happens! The crowd lingered over to the stage to see the new updated line-up would sound like. A new line-up usually means a limited set list and mostly new songs. And tonight was no exception, the new harder sound of the Spooky was there, but only a few of the old favorites made the cut. The KROQ aired Chainsaw Wendy O was one of them. I Talked talked to singer Mike Monster, and he said that they are trying to go forward with band, but that they are slowly picking up a few of the old favorites a little bit at a time. Standouts of the new material was "Frankenstein conquers the World", and a little love/hate song "Monster Hate You". Sure to be new crowd favorites.

They were sporting a new best of cd "The Kindred collector". So keep an eye out behind you the Spooky are out on the streets again.

Up next was L.A. stripper/ singer /movie persona Texas Terri and her stiff ones were up next. I’ve heard a lot about this four piece but this was the first time I actually got to see the band and I was sort of luke warm on my first take of them. Maybe my expectations were too high, or maybe they just had a off show. But I was a little let down. Terri definitely has a Wendy o Williams esqe quality but a little more on the sexy side. Not knowing they’re music very well I think I’ll like them more the next time I see them.

Up next was the numbers. The numbers out on a very energetic old school show. With a real solid guitar sound and some pretty cool songs, I was pretty impressed by the band although I only stayed for a little of their set( due to late start time) I definitely will be at their next show.
