| The Best thing in
Stanton is the cuisine of the international restaurant The Mad Greek. Home
of the original French-fried zucchini, and inventor and originator of the
zucchini stick. The mad Greek has been given accolades for decades, and
thankfully to the same owners for all those years.
he first time I tried the mad Greek was in 1983 while ditching school. I had just went to prissy’s toke shop to get a new pipe for our outing to the beach. And I decided to grab a burger at the Mad Greek. |

The first time I tried the mad Greek was in
1983 while ditching school. I had just went to prissy’s toke shop to get
a new pipe for our outing to the beach. And I decided to grab a burger at
the Mad Greek. That was all it took, I was hooked for life. That Onassis
Sandwich was the best burger I Had ever had, and the burgers taste exactly
the same to this day. Lean pastrami on a huge cheeseburger with a special
house dressing. Delicious huge onion rings in a thick deep fried batter.
And the premier sandwich of the Mad Greek Family. The Gyro (yee-roh) sandwich
is huge slices of seasoned beef and lamb cooked on a huge
rotisserie spit that sears in the flavor after every cut. It is hands down
the biggest and best gyro that I have ever had. No little imitations here.
Only the best ingredients and the best of all they serve beer and wine
too! All the delicious fare is quite reasonably priced and a bargain for
the true food aficionado.
After you’ve finished off the main course you have to save room for a piece of the sweetest Greek pastry Baklava. It’s sinfully sweet combination pastry and honey with bits of almonds and a secret ingredient or two. You should probably grab two because they go fast. To view The Mad Greek's menu, click here.
