@ Chili Pepper Miami 10-12-00

The first band to play was Inspection 12 which I missed because I got there at 6 and it was an early show starting at 5. Perhaps I would have saw them if the show didn't start so early and there wasn't as much traffic from people coming home from the rat race.

Moving along....One Man Army came on the stage and began to play their set of 45 punk filled minutes. I really enjoyed watching them play. But I do believe only about 5 other people really enjoyed them. Most of the people around didn't know what to make of them. I guess its because they were so young and not really into that type of punk. Mostly they were there for the pop punk sounds of HomeGrown and No Use For A Name. At one point they asked everybody to start a circle pit. Which is kinda sad that they had to ask, but of course the kids knew what it was. Which they did for about 20 seconds, then they fell back into just standing around and looking puzzled at their sound. In conclusion they played great but were sadly the most under appreciated band of the night.

Up next was Home Grown, a pop punk band that were really what the kids wanted to see. Even though they have lost a couple of members, they can still get a crowd going. Most of the younger crowd goes for the catchy poppy beats provided by this band. And as soon as they kicked off their set, of course no one could stand still. Everyone seemed to love their version of the one of the most annoying songs in the world Barbie Girl. Yet they put a punky beat to it which made it a little more tolerable. All HomeGrown is about is having fun, and that's all that seems to matter to them. Some songs they couldn't even sing without starting to laugh. But of course no one cared and the crowd sung the words for them. Even if you don't really like pop punk, the least you can do is appreciate the energy it gives off. They had a good performance that I'm sure will stick in the minds of the young ones who came to see them.

The last band to play was No Use For A Name. They started their set off with a nice little song called Invincible. Which just so happens to be my favorite song that they sing. A nice sized pit formed during the song. And as soon as the song was over I was ready to leave. But of course I stuck around watch them and give a good review of the show. They played some of their best songs, I was really happy at they play list they had. No Use did not disappoint one bit. The band gave an amazing fast paced performance and never slowed down. Until the last song which was their own version of Bob Marleys '" Redemption" song. The song wasn't very slow for long it soon picked up and ended the show, with a large amount of energy. All in all the show ended at about 9 "o" clock. Which gave me the rest of the night to go around looking for cheap one-legged prostitutes. I was happy, and it was a good show.
