@ The Chili Pepper in Coconut Grove / Miami, Florida Oct. 21, 2000

Another early show, it started at 5. Inspector 7 played first, we only got to hear about 2 songs from this band. They were a fast paced ska band that seemed to give it their all but they were not inspecting anything. I myself brought 4 pairs of pants for them to inspect. But they did nothing of the sort, they just played and then stopped.

Then it was up to Mustard Plug to get the crowd moving again. They came out as always dressed in their nice yellow button down shirts. They played a wide range of new and old songs. They performed with a high amount of energy, which the crowd immediately responded to. Loud and fast with lots of horns, lots of skankin, and lots of fun. That is the only way to describe Mustard Plug live. They are a band that is damn good at doing what they do. And what do they do? They play good fast ska that never stops. Until it's time for YOUTH BRIGADE to play their set.

Up next was Youth Brigade. I was really looking forward to see this trio of punk rock brothers. If you've never seen them before then you don't know what your missing. They have an opinion on everything, and what better way for them to express their views then through great punk rock? They touch on many issues that they feel are important. Whether you agree with them or not, you can still enjoy the music. Besides it's always better to form your own opinions on things. But moving along Youth Brigade played great and had a great set. I was very lucky to see them tonight. They are truly one of Canada's finest by products. Check out Youth Brigade's Interview

Now for the highlight of the night. The Bouncing Souls were on next and
nobody could wait for them to get on stage. The crowd began chanting "ole" in hopes of getting the band out even faster. And when they came out the crowd went crazy. At last, the band everyone was waiting to see was on stage ready to tear the place down. They played a variety of old songs, new songs, and songs that will be on their new album due out April 2001. Including Hopeless Romantic, Born To Lose, Kate Is Great, and I Like Your Mom.

I really would have enjoyed this show a little bit more if there weren't so many crowd surfers. I find it very annoying to get kicked in the head while I'm trying to enjoy a band I really love. I even lost my shoe trying to get some great pictures, but some nice fellow next to me bent over fearlessly and fetched my shoe for me. Only at a Bouncing Souls show. But aside from people falling on top of one another the Bouncing Souls gave it their all. And truly showed the people at the Chili Pepper that they did what they set out to do. And that was to show everyone a good time.
