And when I found out it was at going to be at the best All Ages venue in Orange County I was really set on making it to the show even though it was on a Sunday. But for a chance to see THE CREW live count me in. The Show started pretty early so I missed the opening band the Knockoff’s damn this California traffic. But I was there in plenty of time to see one of Epitaph’s newest finds Death By Stereo. I have only had the pleasure of seeing Death by Stereo once before Sundays show. And after seeing them again i really need to get a some of their music. Were I was sitting I was right between the band monitors and the P.A. speakers. So I didn’t get to truly appreciate the pure furiosity of music, but their stage show made up for it. They definitely got the crowd off the floor and packing to the front. The Singer was a Allover the club, his reign of terror not confined to just the stage area. Whether in the pit or on the stage the band definitely got their point across to the capacity crowd. The sentence was Death by Audio percussion, Death by Stereo. An onslaught like Death by Stereo would be a hard act for any band to follow. But having seen Union 13 many times in the past I knew that they could at least come close! After destroying Jerry’s Pizza in Bakersfield on Friday the guys from the barrio’s of Boyle Heights took the stage in Anaslime and didn’t give it back. With a little help from their fans Edward and numerous fans sang the high octane punk hits that impressed the people at Epitaph to take a gamble and sign up these literal newcomers a few years back. Union 13 is all about telling the stories from the streets even if their not always pretty. Guitarist Jose is the other stand out member of the band, his guitar work for the band is seamless and mistake free. Along with a very solid rhythm section union 13 took over were Death by Stereo left off, inciting a near righteous conditions. Be sure to listen to DeadOnTheWeb's interview with Union 13 by clicking here! After Union set we were informed that someone got hurt really bad and that every one had to mellow out. Right, like that was going to happen. With 7 seconds due to take the stage next ,and the crowd heated up to a good boil. There’s no way the bouncers were going to keep the fans of the crew of that stage. And when Kevin Seconds and the band took the stage the control lasted about 15 seconds before a sea of sweaty kids rolled on to the stage. Wirth 7 seconds touring on the release of a new live album. I was relieved to see the band was playing a lot of songs of early albums like “The Crew” and “Walk together, Rock together” which are two of my favorite 7 seconds albums. Playing songs like “Here’s your Warning”, “Not Just Boys Fun”, “Crew”, “You Lose”, and “99 red balloons”. It was a relief to me that all these young kids were excited as I was to be front and center for such a kick ass scene as this. Having played fifteen years worth classic punk rock, 7 seconds saved songs that typifies what 7 seconds has meant to the punk scene. Rounding out a perfect night the band played the anathematic classic" walk together, rock together”, and “99 Red Balloons” . Everyone in the house was singing along like there was no tomorrow, it was a great show and if you weren’t their you blew a chance at seeing one of the best positive punk bands to ever strap on a instruments.
