You gotta love Chain Reaction for putting on some killer punk shows! Tonight’s show kicked off right with a newer band on the punk circuit that go by the name The Loads. In fact word on the street was this was their first live performance. To see a band play for the first time in front of an audience is always a good time because they either totally suck so its fun to harass them and make their life hell or they rip it up and BOOM you have a new local band to go check out. As for The Loads, well it was BOOM! When they first took the stage they looked pretty nervous but once they cranked up the volume and started jamming their nervousness turned into raw power. And raw is probably the best word to describe them. To me they brought back the best of 77’ style punk along the lines of The Stooges or Slaughter and the Dogs. Poppy beats along with catchy snotty lyrics. And to compliment their driving tunes the audience graced them with an old fashioned pit. The best type of compliment a punk knows how to give. The Loads pretty much impressed the shit outta me and I have a feeling this first show definitely wont be their last. I interviewed them a bit later and I found out that they already have some label interest so catch them while you can!

Form one 77’ style punk band (my favorite kind) to another. This time it was The Distraction. Hell yeah I liked these guys. It’s like a time warp when you watch these guys jam. The way they look, the way they perform and the way they sound, it’s all there! History repeats it’s self every now and then, so if pogoing comes back chances are it’s gonna happen at a Distractions show. If your down with bands like The Crowd or early Buzzcocks then The Distraction is a band ya don’t wanna miss out on. If your not, well fuck you because you have shitty taste in bands. Go see them.

Well unfortunately I had to miss The Riffs set because I was out back bullshitting with The Loads taping a great interview. Im sure they kicked ass all the same because they tend to do stuff like that. Sorry guys, maybe Ill catcha next time.

Damnation are not only nice guys but they also happen to be one of my favorite bands and ya know what? They shred shit up as well. Before they got on stage I hopped up and gave away some killer Halloween shit like masks, plastic fangs and body parts just to set the mood,  all courtesy of DeadOnTheWeb.com. Oh we also gave away a framed poster of the nights show that was signed by The Stitches and Damnation, see, even at the shows we give away some killer shit. Anyway, Damnation takes the stage and all the kids start tearing shit up. Carpet was flying and paint was pealing off the walls and this was just the first song! The dark antics of Damnation took everyone by storm as they ripped out some of their finest work. Dark and heavy is how these guys like to play their tunes blessed by Dracula himself. Have you seen these guys yet? Well you had better before they jump on that train back to hell to take it over!

After a small break as Damnation tore down their stuff, The Stitches took the mic and started force feeding us their rock punk style. These guys have been at it for sometime now and it shows. They know how to take charge and get everyone’s full attention. Once they have it they melt it down, shoot it up and spew out toe tappen face slammin music you can toss midgets to. You know a band has it going on when just about every mouth in the place is singing simultaneously along with the singer to each and every song. Its always a good time with The Stitches on the stage.  After the smoke cleared and The Stitches ended their set the show was now over.  Another great punk show at Chain Reaction!
