THE ADOLESCENTS
20 YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF THE BLUE ALBUM SHOW

@ The Galaxy Theatre, Santa Ana CA

Hell yaaaa! This was the best fucking show. I got there late due to the fact that my girlfriends wanted to stop at the liquor store, to get a pint of some lethal juice to pound down in the parking lot before going in, and that’s exactly what they did. Don’t worry I just had a small sip.

We thought we’d just be able to walk right up and collect our tickets but the line was wrapped around I guess we weren’t the only ones late. Amazing and the show had already started an hour ago. They had tight security that night of course, and at the door there was a sign saying NO-MOSHING. HA very funny, I don’t think that will stop this crowd of punks. Finally I got myself inside just in time too.  Channel 3 was making their entrance on stage. You all know that this band has been around since the beginning of the early punk days and those sad, sad, people that have never seen or heard this band before better check them out, because they are the baddest. They blasted the music out of their instruments sounding astounding. Mike sounded excellent on vocals. Kimm played his guitar wicked. Alf pounded strong and fierce on his drums. There line up has changed mildly with a new bass player that tears it up. This guy has got rhythm and girls watch out cuz this guy is HOT! I think his name is Anthony. The whole floor was a massive sea of movement.  The security guys could not control it no-moshing haa! A lot of stage diving and crowd surfing was happening a girl in the pit got floored and trampled but security got her out, she looked unconscious and took her out back. That should tell you a little how crazy it was in that pit. I did manage to take some photos without getting knocked out.  Definitely Channel 3 was the perfect complement to listen to before the Adolescents came on; they got the crowd all revved up nothing was stopping us now.

Cha-ching! Now time for the Adolescents! This was there 20year Anniversary come back with all original members fuck ya! Man did they play loud. Tony, the singer told the audience he didn’t want to see anyone’s back turned towards him because that would mean you weren’t watching him, meaning when you jump off the stage your back was facing him and he did not want to see any of that; good thing he was joking because that’s all he saw when they were playing. Randomly punks’ stage diving into the swarming sea of body’s hoping someone would catch them luckily people did. The band played as though they had never took a break strong and forceful. They played anything and everything you could imagine like Amoeba, Creatures, kids of the black hole, word attack just to name a few. Some girl kept jumping on stage to give bassist Steve Soto kisses on the cheek but security kept throwing her off immediately, at the end of the show she jumped on stage again, and man did security go to nab her, but Steve rescued her, took her by the arm and brought her back stage (lucky girl.) A few fights broke out but no bloodshed.  I did take some photos but it was my life or these pictures. As you can see I choose my life, thank god for a zoom lens. The Adolescents will be playing around more so if you missed this show you gotta go to the next show you pathetic people.
