Due to the closure of one of my favorite spots to drink beer and watch bands, yes I'm talking about Club Mesa, there have not been too many opportunities to catch great shows. Well it looks as if my luck has changed. Right in my own backyard (so to say) at the Galaxy Theater was a not to miss show. It was an OC fest featuring Agent Orange, the return of the White Kaps, the Crowd, Drain Bramaged, and Split Decision. Hell yeah you can't beat a line up like that!

          First up was Split Decision. These guys are awesome to say the least! Four guys that simply tear shit up. Im suprised they arent signed yet. I guess if you were to describe their sound it would be this: take the ripp'n punk sounds of Guttermouth, the melodic vocals of Bad Religion, Josh Freese (drummer of the vandals), stick it all in a bong with some chronic and smoke it!  And watch out because their music is very catch and sticks to your brain like a fly on shit! I have seen them play before several times and they always get me hooked to come back again so I was pretty happy to find out they were on this line up. You should check them out sometime. 

          After Split Decision, out came Drain Bramaged. This was a record release for their brand spanking new album and it's about damn time they came out with it too! I have been craving my D.B. fix! These guys can out drink and out party anyone I know. You can always have a good time seeing them. Most of the crowd usually sings along with them, and ends up pretty wet and sticky from them spitting beer and other foul objects from their mouths. Their onstage antics usually include Doug taking off most of his clothes, and this time included their buddy of theirs dressed up as one ugly girl serving the band beer on their home job bar they set up on stage.  their set was full of beer drinking classics as well as some new ones off the new "Seven Course Meal" cd. You must experience Drain Bramaged at least once in your lifetime. 

          Next up was one of Orange County's first punk rock bands, the Crowd. The Crown have been at it for quite some time now and they still are kicking out the jams. Unfortunately I didn't get to catch their whole set because I was diverted but the half I did catch was just as powerful as I expected. This would bee the 10th time I have seen these guys and they are always pleasers in my book.

          Well it's been at least 5 years since I had seen the White Kaps play a show. Rumor is that they did this reunion show strictly for their friends in Drain Bramaged to put on one hell of a  cd release party. It used to be a pretty common thing to catch the two bands playing together. It was great to see them at it again. they pretty much played all of their classics and really got the crowd pumped. It was pretty funny to watch the security try to stop everyone from starting up a pit. Here at the galaxy it's a rare thing when the pit continues to go at full force and the White Kaps did a pretty damn good job at keeping the driving force high enough to coax people to keep the pit alive. Im not sure if they are going to be playing a show again in the near future but I really hope this isnt the last we hear of the White Kaps.

          Last but not least was the band of the night, Agent Orange. I try to catch them whenever they play in Orange County, which isnt all too often. They were up there giving their thanks to all the people that have supported the band through out the years. Sounding thoroughly grateful to have such loyal fans. He mentions they have a new album out, and they are embarking on a world tour coming up soon. Now along with being great musicians, all the guys are really nice people. Always open to say Hi, and shoot the shit with their fans. They truly are a great band. Catching a glimpse of their set list I was excited to see more than 30 songs written on it. They were gonna play till they got shut down! they played everything from Everything Turns Grey  to Bloodstains to Fire in the Rain. It was on hell of a set. 

          This was probably one of the best shows I have got to see in a very long time if not my entire life. Not only were all the bands top notch but so were the fans there to see them!
