I arrived at about 7:00 on a Saturday at Chain Reaction in Anaheim. There was a pretty nice sized line starting to form outside the club to get in. Luckily I got in just in time to see the first band play, which happened to be Taken. They played their usual brand of melodic metal-core. Their set really didn’t move me, but they’re a great bunch of guys. And they play a great tight set.

     Now on the Emo side of things, there was the band Cross my Heart. I’m usually not one for emo-music of any sorts; I’m very picky that way.  But these guys really surprised with some really good music. Yeah, there was some stuff of theirs I wasn’t really into, but over all their set was pretty Dam good. I noticed that their were a lot of heads were into it.

     Next was up on the bill was Thrice. Now these guys fucking suck, and that’s still being too nice. These good riddance wanna be’s took the stage, and it was all downhill from there. On the positive side of things, I thought the bands singers had a rad voice. And they seem to have brought a lot of sluts to the show, but along with them came a lot kids who were acting like they were at a damn Limp Bizkit show! And I would like to extend a big Fuck You to all you Fred Durst wanna be’s. Stay the fuck at home

     Coming up next was an out of state band called Ann Berretta. They are currently on tour with the headliner Boy Sets Fire. These guys brought a punky feel to the show. Which was weird and cool at the same time. They laid down some poppy punk beats, but lacked the stage presence to keep me interested. After a little while all I was doing was waiting for boy sets fire.

     After a short wait (to keep within the time constraints of the ESPN sports film crew that was also there filming) Boy Sets Fire took the stage and rocked the shit out of Chain Reaction. I fuckin loved it! I was also lucky enough to see them In L.A. at the Troubadour, and that show wasn’t shit compared to tonight. Every song that Boy Sets Fire played got the kids going crazy. Their awesome set of songs had the floor moving. It sure as hell lit up my night and brought a Kool smile to my face. To be honest before tonight I wasn’t all that into Boy Sets Fire, But they sure changed my mind tonight. They turned a show an all right show into something I will always remember. Thanks Boy Sets Fire.
