Ok, here we have one of the best god damn shows that has been put on in a while and I have nothing but bad luck. First of all I was running late because I spent the entire fucking day dealing with the world's stupidest people at the DMV. So finally I get my ass on the road and my horseshit of a car decides to take a dump after I spent almost $30 filling the junk with gas. So there I was, looking like a moron stranded at some crappy gas station wondering how the fuck I was going to get to the show.  Thank god I was able to save up thirty cents working my ass off at the sanitary department to make a phone call to my friend. He showed up almost an hour later and we were finally on the way. So to make a long story short...I missed every fucking band but Earth Crisis! Oh but that wasn't enough bad luck for Frank now was it?!? When I went up to take some pictures my camera felt the need to take a break and not want to work! So basically you have just that fancy logo up there to look at while you read what I thought of Earth Crisis.

So I get to the Glasshouse and I can hear that Earth Crisis is already playing. At first it was hard to see the band because all I saw were bodies flying from the left to the right! So as I fought my way to the stage, I couldn't help but test the waters in  the slam pit. Shit after my day, I had enough aggression to release it all night! So after a few songs of tearing up the dance floor it was time to do some crowd surfing and then chill in the front and enjoy the band.

Now let me tell you this, hearing Earth Crisis on CD and hearing them live is like night and day! First of all not only do you hear them live but you can feel them because these fuckers play LOUD! And to feel the vibrations of the pounding bass over the pushes and shoves of the crowd is pretty damn impressive! And how about Vocalist Karl Buechner? This punk has coaxed his maniacal growl into migrating to tuneful, decipherable and addictively catching choruses and vocal hooks. Karls' astounding range and vocal depth has positioned him as one of the strongest voices in hard core music. The musical backbone of the band has never been stronger from both songwriting and musicianship perspectives. Bassist Bulldog and drummer Dennis Merrick provide percussion that is calculated, spontaneous and massive- flying way off the Richter scale. Guitarists Scott and Eric riffs sometimes pulverizing and jagged, sometimes soothing sonic barrages round out the musical savagery. Physically the band are in their best condition ever and are determined to take over every stage, audience and venue that they invade. And boy was I glad I had just got the new CD "Slither" just a few days before the show because some of the best sounding songs they played were from that CD. But as always they jammed a well rounded set of old classics and new hits.

And there you have it. Earth Crisis tore it up and did it in true hardcore fashion! So even though I missed all the bands that played previous to Earth Crisis, one thing was certain: I had forgot all about the shitty day I had!
